Queen Nails

She's not very careful and her nail shape isn't perfect, i keep telling her but she kept insisting.

I’ve lived in NY, Toronto, and Florida and have been getting my nails done regularly for 20 years — Queen Nails (or Queen Lisa Nails 😘) on Quinpool is amazing and affordable! The shop reminds me of my fav nail place in NYC. For the first time since I moved to Halifax, I’ve found acrylic prices and quality comparable to any good nail shop in Florida as well (IYKYK!). Lisa is such a lovely human too! Always a delight. Always quick, attentive, and efficient. She has a great selection of gel colours that never chip. She can do any shape you want and she does it well. I can go about 3 weeks without a fill. Pictured are the best holiday nails I’ve ever had thanks to Queen Nails! As long as I’m in Halifax, this is my nail place! THANK YOU, LISA!

If I could give this place a -10 I would. This was by far the worst nail experience I’ve ever had in my life. Where do I begin? All I wanted was shellac polish put on my toes, no pedicure, no previous shellac or polish removal, just straight shellac polish on my toes. Easy enough right? Wrong. The lady takes me in and sets me in the chairs for the manicures/fingernails, she tells me to give her my foot. I ask for clarification cause surely she doesn’t mean for me to put my foot on top of the desk. She tells me to give her my foot from under the table, so she takes my foot under the desk and sets it on her lap. That was the moment I knew this was going to be a nightmare. So I kindly ask if it’s ok if we move to the pedicure chairs as this is quite uncomfortable and awkward. She wasn’t too pleased with that by the tone of her voice when she said “fine”. Then I sit in the pedicure chair and she starts to clip my toe nails. I didn’t realize until she was just about done she cut them SO short I couldn’t believe it. Then she starts to buff my nails (not with the drill with a file), I’m thinking ok that’s strange I’ve always had someone buff them with the drill to even it out so the shellac goes on smooth without any waves or bumps. So I asked her to use the drill, she tells me to go sit back down at the manicure station so I do, then she takes my foot under the table again and uses the little nail drill. Then takes me back to the pedicure chair. Then she comes at me with the shellac. I’m on my phone so I’m not really paying attention I’m just trying to trust the process and keep it moving. I look down after a while and she literally has the polish all over the skin on my toes, and has even painted over the cuticles. I keep asking her to clean it up a bit but she just ignores me. At this point I am just completely frustrated so I let her finish then I pay and leave. When I get home I sit down and actually look at my toes and the polish is so uneven, and bubbly. It looks awful. Normally I wouldn’t care but I was leaving for a flight that day and had zero time to fix this so I go back down to the nail salon and ask her for my money back. She starts screaming at me to sit down and refused to give my money back until she takes the polish off saying “you’re not getting that polish plus your money back”. I tell her I have ZERO time to sit down for her to drill the shellac back off my toes and tell her I want my money back. She just keeps screaming at me over and over again telling me I’m not getting my money back. So I said you know what that’s fine keep the money but I’m leaving you a terrible review and will be posting the pictures I took along with it. Then she gets out of her chair and comes over to me screaming “you want your money back you delete the pics right now”. I said no give me my money back and I will delete the pictures. I have my phone in my hand at this point and she comes over and stands beside me trying to look at my phone over my arm screaming at me “delete them delete them right now then I will give you the money” and she takes the money out of her pocket and holds it in her hands. I then take the money out of her hands because she’s close enough for me to take it, and I tell her there now I’ll delete the pics now , GOODBYE. I walk out of the door and I can still hear her screaming at me. This woman is not only unprofessional but clearly a lunatic. But it doesn’t end there.. she then proceeds to call me 5 times until I had to block her phone number. To the woman- whoever you are, I hope you get some help because the way you acted was actually insane and I’ve never experienced anything like that in my life- especially at a nail salon. Be well.
